Densitometers for Reading X-ray Film

301 Transmision Densitometer

The X-Rite model 301 densitometer is designed to provide highly repeatable and accurate measurements of film densities. This densitometer will detect variations in film density far more subtle than can be seen by the naked eye. Its wide measurement range allows you to measure densities up to 5D. An optional RS-232 output allows you to connect the 301 to a digital printer or computer. The 301 densitometer helps provides accurate quality control of your X-ray film processor which will help insure high quality X rays and reduce repeating the process for better patient care. This is probably the most widely accepted and used densitometer for medical X rays.

331 Portable Densitometer

Although it is compact and lightweight, the X-Rite 331 does not compromise on performance. You can count on accuracy that is ±.02D and a repeatability of ±.01D. The unit’s measuring range encompasses 0-4D with the 2mm aperture. A self-contained light table gives the densitometer added versatility as it eliminates the need for an external light source.

390 Strip-reading Densitometer

The X-Rite 390 process control densitometer is an accurate, easy-to-use auto-reading instrument that simplifies the monitoring of the x-ray film processor. In less than a minute, it can read and calculate a complete set of control strip data. This feature saves time and virtually eliminates data-taking errors. It is an ideal unit for connection to computer-based software programs and other devices. Insert a processed control strip into the densitometer; within seconds, the 390 scans all 21 steps from the strip and calculates the base plus fog, speed index, contrast index, average gradient and D-max. With the push of a button, the densitometer lets you view or print the measurements just taken. Connect the 390 to a serial printer, and it can generate a D-log E Curve for the 21 steps.

391 Strip-reading Densitometer

The 391 networking auto-strip reading densitometer offers all the features of the 390, plus spot measurements, data storage, and networking capability to an external modem. The 391 retains data for up to 32 strips from each of 12 processors. It can be linked directly to a printer to plot a control chart directly, or networked to a computer to transfer data to a QC software program. The X-Rite 391 system provides the tools required for optimizing the radiographic film development process. Whether you are running one or several processors, the system generates all of the quality control information needed to establish and maintain optimum image quality and consistency.
